At the “Last Supper,” Jesus and His disciples were in Jerusalem at Passover. Jesus shared His last Passover meal with His disciples, remembering the deliverance that His Father, God, gave the children of Israel when He brought them out of Egypt.
The Last Supper was significant for our Messiah, because within a few hours, He would also bring deliverance to the entire world – as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29).
After the first Passover, the Israelites became a newly formed nation, and entered a new life. My hope through these teachings is that you continually are seeing that Passover and the Resurrection are forever intertwined.
The early church—followers of Jesus, both Jewish and non-Jewish—largely continued celebrating the appointed times found in Leviticus 23 with great joy in their shared faith.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we are now raised to a new life.
Just like the children of Israel, if we know that we are Christians, there are some things and behaviors that we must allow the Holy Spirit to change.
There are former behaviors that we should no longer feel comfortable in doing. That is called conviction. Things so to speak, “drop off” of us. I heard a preacher once say “We are not sinless, but we sin less.”
When the Holy Spirit resides inside of us, we begin to have manifested in us the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit changes us.
Israelites could no longer do what they used to do after the Exodus from Egypt, and through Christ’s resurrection, neither can we.
